Early literacy is what your child knows about reading and writing before he or she actually learns how to read and write. Children are born ready to learn, and you provide the opportunities for learning through everyday experiences-- including talking, reading, singing, writing and playing.This kit containstwo guides, one CD and four books that focus on the early literacy practice of singing. Singing supports children's oral language development of language structures, vocabulary, and phonological awareness. Some of the books in this kit show characters incorporate singing and music into their daily routines, while others foster the exploration of rhyme, alliteration, and syllable concepts. The books in this kit encourage conversations, foster language play, and model creative adult-child dialog. Use the guides, books and CD in this bag to learn how to prepare your preschooler for reading and later success in school.
